October’25 🎃
It is incredibly autumnal in Edinburgh currently and it’s also getting frightfully cold (I can’t imagine what February is going to be like). Everything around me is cosy, people have got their blankets and candles out, my TikTok is filled with soup recipes (I’m attempting marry me Tortellini soup tomorrow), it’s officially curl-up-on-the-couch season. My idea of cosiness—and I do not accept construct criticism for feeling this way—has always been a “so bad it’s kinda good” horror movie. I recently watched the 1998 classic Urban Legend starring pre-rat ritual Jared Leto. It wasn’t good, don’t get me wrong, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Horror gets a bad rep, but to me it’s always been familiar, predictable, and oddly soothing.
